Few symbols are more recognizable than the Peace Sign.  However it isn’t just a random, arbitrary image that we’ve come to associate with hippies and pop culture, but is actually a logo for an organization called the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.  Since 1957, they’ve been working hard leading a single issue peace campaign that opposes nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons. I don’t know about you, but knowing that makes me feel pretty good about wearing a Peace Sign every now and then, as it represents a goal that we should all be working toward. Hopefully one day, the Peace Sign won’t just be a representation of an ideal, but an emblem that reflects the reality of a better, safer world.
