I believe that in my former life I was a dancer with a long, lithe physique, envy-inducing grace, and a surplus of sex appeal. In my current life however, I’m short, somewhat clumsy at times, and more eccentric than enchantress. Needless to say, there is definitely some inner conflict going on here. Ladies who tow the line between earthy, non-conformist bohemian and luxe-loving goddess know exactly where I’m coming from. For us, Rachel Pally is a dream come true.
Season after season, I marvel at the magic she works, draping vibrantly hued high quality jersey into casual, elegant silhouettes that accentuate the beauty of the human form. The fluid movement and comfort of every single piece in her collection make me want to arabesque even as I am typing this. However I will remain seated long enough to say that we’re thrilled to infuse even more laid back California style into our inventory here at Shop LA Style and offer the casual elegance of Rachel Pally to our customers.

Get excited…Michael Stars is here! We know that our customers are faithful t-shirt fans, so we’re bringing t-shirt legend, Michael Stars, to the site!

“Michael Stars is the 20-year old T-shirt company many credit with giving birth to the trend for fitted T’s.” -Los Angeles Magazine
Recognizing the potential of the humble T-shirt, Michael Stars has been a continual pioneer in creating “casual couture” since its founding in 1986. The Los Angeles based, family run company remains a leader in the women’s contemporary market, distinguished by its large selection of styles, exuberant colors and comfortable fabrics.
In 1976, Michael Cohen came to Los Angeles from his native Cape Town, South Africa to work for a British shirt company. In the beginning the company was modestly run out of a garage by three family members, all of whom remain with the company today – Cohen, his brother Stuart and Suzanne Lerner. Today, the company has grown to over 200 employees, offering more than 200 styles in over 30 colors per season.

True to its name, Michael Stars dresses many of Hollywood’s A-listers including Halle Berry, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Biel and Natalie Portman. Its distinctive styles have also become a favorite of wardrobe stylists, appearing on TV shows such as “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Desperate Housewives,” “30 Rock,” and “Weeds.” Michael Stars tees, dresses, sweaters and accessories are also regularly featured on the pages of fashion magazines like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Lucky, Elle and InStyle.
Michael Stars is not only innovative in its designs, but also dedicated to humanitarian efforts. The company is a regular supporter of numerous philanthropic events and charities including American Heart Association, American Red Cross, YouthAIDS, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Make-A-Wish Foundation. So, here we are, smack dab in the middle of sweater season and I’m already over my current selection of cozy knits. I don’t know about you, but when the outside temperature is consistently below what I deem to be comfortable, there’s little else I want to do besides cocoon myself in my warmest, softest cashmere, which means my sweaters get plenty of wear. To keep me interested and prevent me from wearing my sweaters to shreads, literally, I’ve been buying new ones, which is giving me a little bit more variety… sort of. Am I the only one that buys the same style of certain things? For instance, since we’re talking about sweaters, I have noticed that most people are either heavily into V necks, crew neck lovers, or cardigan crazy. I’m a cardigan girl, all the way!
