This week’s Staff Picks were selected by our Assistant Inventory Specialist, Jessica. As you can imagine, she has some very strong opinions on the site’s new offerings since she is often, literally up to her neck in our constant flood of new inventory. Because of the physically demanding nature of her job, comfort reigns supreme. But of course that doesn’t mean that she wants to sacrifice style. Thanks to our friends at Michael Stars, Susana Monaco, and Juicy, she won’t have to! Here are some stretchy, soft, and vibrant picks that could become a few of your favorites, too.

We find it so fitting that this vibrant pop of color comes from the Juicy brand. The lush, youthful pink hue of this Ruffle Placket Cardigan in Cherry Fizz looks good enough to eat, but it’s soft and warm enough to bundle up in as well! Introducing Only Hearts

Adding a new collection to the site is always fun, but this one is especially exciting for me since I have been a long-time follower of the brand. We are excited to introduce Only Hearts, a beautiful collection of inner-outerwear^TM that is sure to become a staple of your wardrobe as well!

Only Hearts began in 1978 on Columbus Avenue in New York City. The original boutique was a tiny, outrageous temple to all things heart-shaped. Its uniqueness caught the attention of the neighborhood and the newspapers when in February, lines of customers snaked out the door and down the block. News crews labeled Only Hearts ‘…a shop for the shameless romantic’. Neighbors, hipsters, tourists, and celebrities became enthusiastic regulars.

In the early 80’s, the young shopkeeper named Helena Stuart began designing her own line of intimate apparel – flirty and fashioned to meet a modern woman’s needs. Even with a toddler, a newborn, and a shop to run, she managed to cut and sew samples at night on her living room floor. As her own best advertisement, Helena layered bras and camisoles with vintage dresses, tee and slips, daring her customers to do the same. She innocently helped sow the seeds for a generation of downtown girls who would begin wearing lingerie as outerwear, turning popular culture inside out.

Stuart took the idea to multiple locations and her imaginative personal style easily morphed into designing a fresh take on lingerie as fashion, her inner outerwear^TMconcept and ultimately, the outerwear collections of today. For the past few years her partner has been daughter Kaya Stuart, 29. Growing up in Manhattan, she trained at Parsons School of Design. Kaya contributes both design and management skills and is currently developing her own clothing line.

The collection is designed and manufactured in New York City. It is featured in every major magazine and seen on the hottest celebrities. We are proud to introduce Only Hearts as our newest line!

If you’re anything like me, comfort is a definite prerequisite for any style trend worth getting in on. Because I lead an active life, my clothes can’t just look good on me…they have to feel good as well. I’m also a big fan of the multi purpose garment. One of my favorite styles that fulfills all of my fashion needs is the legging. Once thought of as part of the 80′s style revival, this form fitting trend has become a staple in many wardrobes, especially mine. Three Dots and Splendid both have a great selection of leggings that vary from cropped to full length with a variety of stretchy fabrications that do everything from smooth and contour your body’s silhouette to keep you comfortable and casual around town. They’re great to work out in, sleep in, and even wear as a much needed second layer in colder months and under tunics or dresses. I like to wear mine on long flights or pair them with heels for a night out.
